The Friends of Multnomah County’s Willamette River Bridges is working with several community organizations to promote fundraising, awareness, and cultural events for the Hawthorne Bridge’s birthday celebration. To become a member of the Friends, please send an email to: sharon@portlandbridgecentennial.org.

Additionally, the 2009 Portland-Vancouver Bridges & Rivers Calendar is being sold at the following outlets and will be available at several community events.

The calendar retails for $10, thanks to the generosity of Witham & Dickey Printing. If you belong to or know of a group that might sell the calendar, proceeds are split 60-40, with $6 going toward the celebration. Forty percent is the same discount enjoyed by bookstores and other retail outlets. It is also available by mail for $15, which includes packaging and postage. Make checks payable to the Willamette Light Brigade, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and the calendar’s fiscal sponsor, and send to the Friends of the WRBs, PO Box 3403, Portland 97208-3403.
