Partners…The Friends of Multnomah County’s Willamette River Bridges is working with several community organizations to promote fundraising, awareness, and cultural events for the Hawthorne Bridge’s birthday celebration. To become a member of the Friends, please send an email to: sharon@portlandbridgecentennial.org. Additionally, the 2009 Portland-Vancouver Bridges & Rivers Calendar is being sold at the following outlets and will be available at several community events. The calendar retails for $10, thanks to the generosity of Witham & Dickey Printing. If you belong to or know of a group that might sell the calendar, proceeds are split 60-40, with $6 going toward the celebration. Forty percent is the same discount enjoyed by bookstores and other retail outlets. It is also available by mail for $15, which includes packaging and postage. Make checks payable to the Willamette Light Brigade, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and the calendar’s fiscal sponsor, and send to the Friends of the WRBs, PO Box 3403, Portland 97208-3403. The calendar is available in Portland at:
Beginning in September, the calendar will also be at the Portland Classical Chinese Garden Store, New Seasons Stores, and other locations. In Vancouver, it’s carried at Cover to Cover Books, Fort Vancouver National Historic Reserve Museum Store, and the Southwest Washington Convention & Visitors Bureau. Outside Portland, you’ll find it at the Buena Vista House (Independence), Toews Art Studio (Scio), and Wy’east Bookstore (Welches). Also visit the Multnomah Falls Lodge Gift Store, 50000 Historic Columbia River Highway, and the Bridal Veil Historical Preservation Society. The calendar will also be for sale at the following cultural events in 2008:
