This website promotes awareness and understanding of the Portland-Vancouver area bridges as many of them turn or near one-hundred-years-old. The oldest extant bridges include:
- Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway swing bridges (1908)
- Hawthorne Bridge, the oldest operating vertical lift bridge in the world (1910)
- Southern Pacific Railroad Bridge 743.27 (1910)
- Steel Bridge, a unique double-deck vertical lift (1912)
- Broadway Bridge, a rare Rall-bascule (1913)
- Interstate Bridge (1917)
Though its main span dates to 1925, girders on the Sellwood Bridge are from the 1894 Burnside Bridge.
